Thousands of Advocates Urge Congress to Pass Colorectal Cancer Legislation

On Wednesday, March 19th, C3 sponsored the Congressional Butt-In, a one-day phone blitz to Capitol Hill. We asked advocates around the country to call a toll-free number and get connected to their Members of Congress with the message that colorectal cancer legislation must be passed.
C3 advocates made almost 2,000 phone calls to 340 Congressional offices. Well done, advocates!
Without a doubt, this was a huge success, but it’s important to note that just because the Congressional Butt-In is over does not mean all of our hard work should stop. C3 will keep working to ensure that American butts get guaranteed coverage of colorectal cancer screening and treatment but we need you to keep fighting too.

Then scroll over to the right-hand columns to find out if they have signed on to support the three colorectal cancer screening bills that are currently pending in Congress (please note: a “Y” in the corresponding column indicates if they have signed on as a co-sponsor of the legislation; it does not indicate a vote in support of it).

Besides the thousands of calls made to Congress, thousands more individuals were contacted by C3 advocates with the message that we’re tough on colorectal cancer screening. Even if all those folks didn’t make calls, they heard the message.
Great opportunity to bring a voice of awareness to the seriousness of colorectal cancer screening advocacy. It just makes sense to Save Lives when the life you save may be your’s or one of your loved ones. Go! C-3 You make us proud! Together we are a force nationwide to be reckoned with! C-3, thank you for the easy technology to make those calls. I know I passed your note around and increased awareness of the issue and whenever possible I personally talk about the importance of screening as being a potential curing vehicle as well as early identification of cancer. Keep up the good work — we are right behind you to do what we can!!
The calls were great, but it’s not over yet. You can still send e-mails. Make your voice heard on Capitol Hill and in your own communities. Whenever you can, remind your friends and neighbors that they all have butts. We don’t want our “movement” to get sluggish now, do we? Before Congress breaks for the summer, send off some e-mails to get things moving! Cyber-fiber?
