Congresswoman Kay Granger (R-TX) and Congressman Patrick Kennedy (D-RI) recently introduced a Congressional Resolution marking the tenth anniversary of the first Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.
C3 and our Cover Your Butt Campaign were also recognized for our efforts in building support at the grassroots level, and helping to shape policy decisions so the most effective colorectal cancer prevention and treatments are available to all Americans. Click here to read the resolution.
The resolution was introduced alongside HR 1189, the Colorectal Cancer Prevention, Early Detection and Treatment Act. The bill would create a National Colorectal Cancer Screening Program.

Excellent! I was on the news ten years ago with Dr. Debra Vachon to encourage women to get screened for colo-rectal cancer.
I called today the 3 representatives. I forgot to mention the bill # but I did give the bill’s name correctly. This is the first time I have ever called my congressional representative and both senators about important legislation like HR 1189. Your help was appreciated. C3 made it so easy to contact all three congressional representatives. Thanks for your support. I can’t wait for the next phone push for health care reform. I understand personally how important it is to get screened when you lose health insurance. The doctors found my stage four colon cancer after I lost my job three years ago. I was blessed by God with a kind hearted CEO who maintained my healthcare insurance for the next two and half years without justication since I was completely disabled and unable to work for him anymore. I was lucky, but I know how unusual that is in real life. America needs HR 1189 now more than ever! I will keep pushing my representives for this coverage until it is passed.
