The calls were great, but it's not over yet. You can still send e-mails. Make your voice heard on Capitol Hill and in your own communities. Whenever you can, remind your friends and neighbors that they all have butts. Use the link above to send an e-mail to your reps on the Hill, and use whatever creative devices you have at your disposal to spread the word at home. We don't want our "movement" to get sluggish now, do we? Before Congress breaks for the summer, send off some e-mails to get things moving! Cyber-fiber?

i think that the screening age for rectal cancer should be changed to age 35 years. heres why im 39 years old and was just diagnoised with stage IV colorectal cancer that spread to my liver. i was missed diagnoised so many times for almost a year before they finally did a rectal exam. by then it already spread to my liver. they need to screen for rectal cancer a lot earlier. it will help a lot of young people like me.

C-3, thank you for the easy technology to make those calls. I know I passed your note around and increased awareness of the issue and whenever possible I personally talk about the importance of screening as being a potential curing vehicle as well as early identification of cancer. Keep up the good work -- we are right behind you to do what we can!!

Besides the thousands of calls made to Congress, thousands more individuals were contacted by C3 advocates with the message that we're tough on colorectal cancer screening. Even if all those folks didn't make calls, they heard the message.

I am curious why if the polyps were only precancerous
why they couldn't just remove them when they performed the colonoscopy?
Adenocarcinoma is cancer so I am guessing you
meant Adenoma with is a type of polyp with a high probability of turning cancerous. The unnerving part
is the missed polyps from the first Dr.I just
paid alot of money for a colonoscopy and am a little
concerned he missed something because I now have
mucus in my stool which I didn't have prior to the tesst.I originally had just pain.

To answer Quentin's question about what the Cover Your Butt Campaign means by screening -- we believe that everyone, despite their financial means or insurance, should have access to the full range of recommended tests to find precancerous polyps or cancer.

While it is true there are inexpensive fecal blood tests that will find some cancers, those tests are not very sensitive and will miss many cancers and almost all polyps. Patients should know that and be able to choose the test that is best for them.

If you would like to know more about the latest screening recommendations for detecting precancerous colorectal polyps and cancer you can find information at: http://tinyurl.com/3xggmu
